Donna Shalala

Donna E. Shalala has spent her entire life fighting to improve the lives of others. A lifelong Democrat, she has advocated tirelessly for women’s rights, civil rights, increased access to health care, better education and schools and a clean, sustainable environment. Donna was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. Her grandparents were migrants from Lebanon and moved to the United States to pursue the American Dream. Donna understands first-hand the hard work and dedication that defines the lives of immigrants trying to provide a better life for their family, as her grandparents and parents did for her and her twin sister. Donna received her degree in history from Western College for Women and earned her Ph.D. from The Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University.

Martu Freeman

Martu’s credentials are in Fashion Merchandising/Consumer Services. She moved to New York City where she went on to gain experience as a freelancer in the Apparel industry as an Assistant Production Manager, Merchandising Assistant, Fabric R&D, Pre-production Manager with many nationally recognized apparel companies. The list of company includes Polo Ralph Lauren, The Limited, Victoria Secret Catalogue, Polo Jeans, Calvin Klein Jeans, Gap Inc., The Limited, Carter’s and Conde Nast Publications. In December 1999 in East Orange, New Jersey, she established M.E.F. Productions as a Fashion event planning agency. For 11 years she had the time of her life putting on Fashion events and Art shows in New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia and Maryland. Currently based out of Fort Lauderdale Florida, M.E.F. Productions now offers a wide range of services to businesses and individuals in the Art and Fashion Industries. Their mission is to develop effective strategies that fit within their clients goals and budget.

Axelle Flemming

International makeup artist Rory Lee, CEO and founder of MakeupByRory and her namesake RoryLee Makeup line; is known for her creativity and expertise in working with a diverse clientele. Her work can be seen on ABC, NBC, FOX, CNN, PBS, MTV, BET, TLC and Lifetime; she has also worked with NFL films for the Super Bowl and the Miami Heat. Her love of fashion and entertainment ultimately melded with her corporate leadership skills, resulting in the creation of an in-demand company that books freelance hair, makeup and wardrobe stylists across a variety of industries. Rory also serves as a consultant, trainer and educator, and has mentored and supported countless freelancers in developing their own businesses. Amy is a transformational speaker who has helped thousands of people navigate their life’s journey. Yasel Fleitas

Designer, Yasel Fleitas, is a Cuban American who cultivated his roots within Miami and its culture. Identifying with unique and unconventional elements, since he can remember. Participating in many fashion shows in Puerto Rico, as both a stylist and creative director, Yasel was able to land his work in several publications; earning him recognition and thirst to learn more. With an eye for unique and bold elements, he wants to translate this for the modern man. Today, Yasel is currently a student furthering his studies to learn the business from the ground up. However, his creativity is already being unveiled while working on his own line.

Wilfred Marrero

Wilfred M the Stylist “It is not about Money, it is about Style” #willieM Wilfred Marrero Jr was born in La Habana, Cuba. WillieM started his fashion and theater career at age eleven. Since then, he has journeyed between two fields. He graduated from FIU with a major in Theater Direction and Costume Design. After a few years in the Theater, he decided to turn his attentions to fashion. He has spent the last 15 years as a Designer, Creative Director and Stylist. Nowadays Mr. Marrero holds the position of Stylist Professor at MIU, Miami. He also works as a Stylist and Fashion Creative Director, which has gained him a reputation in the fashion/theater community. His advant-garde way of thinking places him a step ahead of most Stylists in the area. As a Stylist he incorporates theater and fashion to create extraordinary results.

Marla Cartin

Marla Cartin is an entrepreneur, stylist, and designer who lives by the philosophy that every woman’s body deserves to be adorned, cherished, respected and celebrated.

Before starting her own company, she worked as a fashion copywriter, restaurant owner, and a stylist for Glamour.com’s Ask A Stylist App.

After being featured in Vogue.com and Refinery29.com for personal styling, she decided to branch out. Marla created Blue Velvet Curtain, a personal fashion consulting company which curates select samples and one-of-a-kind finds from both high-end fashion houses and unique global designers, offering them to her clients at a discount.

Jay R. Durate and Mesha Culpepper

Jay R. Duarte, the son of a professional model, standing a striking 6 feet, 7 inches tall, began designing elegant, tailored, and pristine clothes for himself when he found a lack of stylish clothing for a man of his stature. In 2002, he started the Jay R. Dee Clothing Line. His line includes well tailored suits, jackets and even jeans. He also began to design sexy women’s clothing. “I like to design clothes that I would like to see on a woman. I think all shapes and sizes are beautiful, especially in sexy clothes.” Today, Jay R. Duarte holds regular fashions shows in South Florida to showcase his latest collections. His Fashion Explosion shows are well known for his extraordinary designs as well as for showcasing up and coming talent in all areas of entertainment.
Duarte is also in the process of recording a pilot for a reality television program based on the casting, rehearsals and actual upcoming fashion show. Mesha Culpepper-With a background in Fashion Design, Mesha became a partner in Jay R. Dee Clothing. She states, “We are Jay R. Dee Clothing………….”because your appearance is your first asset!”
